Liv became my personal trainer in 2022, when I was 72. I think I may have been her oldest
client.
I was unfit and overweight. These issues were largely the result of severe knee problems in
both knees which had prevented me from doing aerobic training, which I have always loved.
My left knee has had six operations with complications after the last one ten years ago. My
right knee started to deteriorate in 2020 so I needed help.
Liv and I agreed what we needed to concentrate on – strengthening the muscles around the
knees, abs and flexibility. As time has gone on we have added upper body strength and
resistance and my general health and fitness have greatly improved.
Two areas of Liv’s training have particularly impressed me.
First her professional and scientific approach to our training sessions. Every set of exercises
is planned in detail and has a clear purpose. I have been a regular gym person for the last
fifty years and I can understand the purpose of everything she asks me to do.
Second, although hard work, the sessions are extremely enjoyable. I think we all know that
trying to work out, but not enjoying it, is not going to achieve the desired results. Liv’s happy
and supportive demeanour is so important and especially on those few occasions when I’m
really not feeling up for it.
